18 months

I feel like it's been a year since I've posted! Well, pretty much six months but who's counting?! So many changes & milestones to note. Ups & downs but overall precious memories made. I never knew just how fun life would be with a little one around. 

Little miss chatty! Vocabulary is progressing by the day. I think we have a little parrot on our hands. Eats non-stop! I spend majority of my day in the kitchen prepping food (well that's how it seems). So so loving, always coming in for hugs & kisses. With the holiday season just passing by the fascination with "Frosty" the "moman" is still at a high. Can count to three & identify two colors (blue & purple) still working on other ones. Loves to sing & do actions to songs as well as dancing. Adores life! Makes me so proud to be raising such a happy girl.

12 Months

Really, how has 12 months gone by?! If you would have told me a year ago this would be the fastest year of my life I wouldn't have believed you. Here we are, just waiting for time to slow down & perhaps a little time to catch up with all the changes.

12 months of ups & downs, 12 months of being a mother... Still blows my mind. Feels bittersweet. Sad that my baby is no longer a "baby" but on another hand I'm so proud of the little lady she's become. Outgoing, happy & has a love for exploring. Saying "Dada, uh-oh, mmm, yum, mama & bye bye". Crawling at lightning speed but will only walk with Mom or Dad's hands. 

We adore you & all your sassiness! Love you Avery Monica Mae. Happy birthday sweet girl!

11 Months

I My eyes well up with tears when I write this post.... How have 11 months gone by? Where did my baby go? I thought you were supposed to stay small. You always hear everyone say "it goes by so fast! Enjoy it while you can". I don't think you truly understand that until you have experienced it. Here we are, 11 months later & couldn't be more proud of my sweet girl. 

She thinks life is hilarious! Always imitating our laughs & joining in on the giggles. Climbing onto high up things is the newest. Loves to be chased around the house while she crawls or holds onto her wagon. Still shakes the dog gate while making loud noises. Inhales food! We can cut up her food fast enough to feed her. No complaining there! (Coming from picky eaters) Very very outgoing! She can't wait to stare & get attention from somebody while out. Sleeping better now, most likely because she is exerting herself during the day. Always saying "Dada" sometimes "Mama" but Dad is her number one choice. Memorized a few words in a book & johns in when we read. Life just keeps getting better & better with you Avery Monica Mae!

10 Months

Okay, we officially have our hands full! From the beginning of our day to the end we are constantly chasing a baby around. Crawling like mad & pulling herself up on everything it's all eyes on the baby! Exhausting & so fun! 

The changes are rapid! Trying to jot one thing down in "One Line a Day" & it's almost impossible to remember what had happened that day? It is amazing to see the personality of a little person coming to life. You insist on feeding yourself (this is when you are quiet). Always love to try new foods, usually unsure of it the first try but by the second time you do enjoy it. Whatever you don't want you drop off the side of your highchair for Finn. 6 teeth in total. 4 on top, 2 on bottom. Poor you... It's disturbing your sleep like crazy! Or so we think it's teeth. Sleeping isn't your jam. Napping like a champ though. Hmm.... Clapping your hands & waving are your newest tricks. Love to people watch & wait for them to admire you so you can wave hello. Open mouth kisses are always being given to Mom & Dad. You wake up happy & excited, standing in your crib waiting to be picked up. Life is so much more full with you around.

9 Months

Yep, we are so so late on this one! Each month seems to progressively get more late. At least we are documenting ;) Too many amazing milestones! 

Currently weighing in at 20.5 lbs, still in the 85the percentile for everything. You are still our happy baby! From the moment you wake up to the moment you go to bed. You now have 2 teeth! Eating like a little machine... Always amazes me how much you take in during your meals. Army crawling all over the house, chasing the dog & racing me to the fireplace or coffee table (yes, we need to seriously baby proof. Hard to do while selling your home & trying to make it look "staged") We had to lower your crib as you are fully capable of standing up post naps. Transitioned you to a new car seat & it's a whole new world as you can see out the window now. Still quite interested in tags, zippers but also toys in your toy baskets. We love to bring you in our bed in the morning & have chats with you while you roll around, smile & give us kisses. Non stop babbling all day long. You are one happy girl & we couldn't adore you more!!

Spring Look

With a little bit of sunshine & longer days we are in spring mode! I always love the changing of seasons because that means new pieces to add to my closet. When I think of spring colors I think of soft pinks, white & neutrals. It's also fun to throw in some stripes & floral prints. Here are a few things that I'm loving this season:

The cutest esparadrilles from Forever 21 & less than $20! I have a feeling I will be wearing these a lot.

I'm loving this bucket bag! It's nice to switch up the black bag & have something lighter for spring. The tassels add some nice detail. This bag is from Brave Leather. They make amazing handbags & belts! 

This eyelet peplum shirt is darling! You can never go wrong with a white shirt & this one has the perfect feminine detailing. It would be a great way to dress up any pair of jeans. 

There's many more items I'm coveting but this post might get a little lengthy ;)

8 Months

We are having way too much fun & almost forgot to post this! Hard to keep up with the changes because they are constant. Lots of giggling, backwards crawling, conversations. These are the latest newest & greatest! 

Avery loves to play with her toys (especially the musical ones), eat lots of fruit, veggies & of course snacks on puffs. She even started feeding them to Finn. Very cute to see Finn & Avery play together. Or more like Avery pulling his tail & trying to pet his paw. Bath time in the big bath & swimming lessons are so fun because there is a lot of splashing! Avery gives kisses non stop, waves her hands in the air with excitement, sits up on her own & twirls her feet in circles. She scoots herself backwards on the floor. Lots of rocking on her hands & knees but no crawling. Babbles mama & baba all day long. Sleeping has improved (knock on wood) as has napping. Yay!!! Favorite books are Chicka Chicka Boom Boom, Moo Baa La La La & anything by Sandra Boynton. Eye color is green & hair color appears to be brown with a hint of red. No teeth as of yet but in the past few days there has been a ton of drooling. Avery loves to be out & about. Smiling & staring at strangers is a hobby of hers. She's also a great little traveler just recently returned from a Tofino & Seattle trip.

Wardrobe Staples

As of late I seem to have my go-to pieces. It's nice to have these staple items that can be rotated then you don't even have to think about it! Believe me as a sleep deprived mama this is essential. When purchasing staples I always go for quality because these are the items that you are wearing day in & day out. Here are my favorites below: 

It's always fun to pair leopard shoes with a neutral outfit. Or even pattern mix it with a striped tee! 

Black is the new black? Black/ grey denim is my favorite. Nice to change it up. These IT corset jeans are so comfortable & don't bag out. Bonus! 

It's all in the details... With a lace trim, this basic white tee is dressed up. This Zara shirt is a loose fit which is perfect & comfortable for all day wear.

7 Months

The past month has been a complete blur! This little babe is changing every single day.... Keeping us on our toes is what she does best! 

She just loves to smile! Especially at mon & dad but even strangers too. Rolling is her new thing. Continuesly rolling now. Perfecting sitting up while playing. Babbling on & on (ba, ba, ba is the newest word). Always wants her hands kissed. Lightly smacks things in a loving kind of way. Enjoys all foods even prunes, hopefully she's a foodie like her dad. Trying to be independent already! Grabbing & reaching for everything (iPhones seem to always be what she wants!) Transitioned to the "big girl" seat in her stroller & that's a whole new world. Still hasn't mastered sleeping but that's okay. Amazingly still happy majority of the day. Pays attention to Finn now. Loves to pet him & watch him. Adorable! Went on her first vacation to Palm Springs. Enjoyed the sunshine & splashing in the pool! Always happy to be back at home though.

Avery's First Christmas

I think I may have been looking forward to this since before Avery was even born! So excited that we had our new addition around to celebrate with this christmas. As suspected she was more intrigued by the wrapping paper over the gifts. She was spoiled! Lots of love from family members. We had a great first Christmas together as a family!
