19 Weeks!

Here we are at 19 weeks, pretty amazing! We had our ultrasound on Friday. Everything really set in...We really are going to be parents & we really are in love with baby. It was so active! Stretching out it's legs & arms. It was also sucking it's thumb (uh oh we might have a thumb sucker!) but it was sure cute at the time. We meet with our doctor tomorrow. We have asked him to seal the gender in an envelope so we can make the decision to find out. If so, we will have some sort of celebration to celebrate the gender. I'm leaning towards having a baker bake us a cake or popping a black balloon with pink or blue confetti. Still undecided! So many fun things to come.

Size: Mango, baby weighs 10oz

Baby: As of late last week I have started to feel lots of movement. More so little flutters or can also be explained as a fish splashing. The heart is beating like crazy at 152. So neat!

Momma: Feeling much much better! I think the nausea & vomiting (knock on wood, as I don't want to jinx anything!) may have subsided. Sleeping through the night, mornings are a little more challenging. Trying to get in all the nutrients I can by healthy foods & vitamins.

We are almost halfway there! Getting excited that we will soon enough meeting our little bundle of joy!

Brave Beauties

Brave is a Canadian business specializing in leather goods such as handbags, belts & accessories. They are based out of Toronto & make the utmost quality products. Love supporting Canadian businesses!

I have started my collection with a bracelet. With it's handset crystals & hammered rivets it's perfect for pairing with your favourite watch. I then received  the clutch which goes with everything, great for the summer too with the pop of teal! My most recent purchase is the Darya bag... Absolutely the best. You can't go wrong with a Crossbody bag. Easy to dress up or to be casual. It comes with 3 interchangeable tassels (red, teal & black).

All of these beauties are from the amazing Mod Apparel located in Qualicum Beach. Be sure to check out Mod's selection of Brave. Make the investment, you won't be disappointed!

Babymoon

I think vacations are a must have! I especially think "babymoons" are a necessity. My husband and I have been discussing going on a little vacay before our little one arrives at the end of June. We don't want to travel great lengths. Just a 4-5 trip to get some rest and relaxation and maybe a glimpse of sun if we're lucky. 2 places on our list are currently San Francisco and Las Vegas. Easy enough to travel to.

We also love our spot in Tofino, BC. Nothing says relaxation like the westcoast. You can't beat those beach strolls, the smell of the ocean and the calmness of Tofino. This is by far one of our favorite getaways. Many great memories there!

Cox Bay Beach, BC

Tonquin Beach, BC

I think it's important for spouses to connect before their baby comes. It's going to add a whole new dynamic to the relationship that's for sure. Extremely exciting but for now I think we will enjoy the calm before the storm (I mean that in the best way possible).

Any recommendations for a Babymoon?

In Between

We just turned 17! 17 weeks pregnant that is ;) Starting to feel slightly bigger but haven't noticed a complete change yet. I still have people come up to me & say "What! You're pregnant. You don't even look it!" I guess it's because I haven't exactly "bumped" out yet. The feeling of maybe just being too full is still there but as the weeks go on my stomach seems tighter & firmer. Most people have reassured me by month 5 they finally pop. Until then I will keep enjoying the small bump, wearing my usual clothes & keep on collecting maternity clothes until they fit.

Our next ultra sound is in a week & a half. We have pretty much made up our minds that we will be finding out the sex perhaps do a gender reveal cake. I can hardly wait to find out if Baby Coulter will be a boy or girl. Stay tuned!!

2014, A Brand New Year!

Here we are in a new year. Always hard to believe a whole year has been and gone. It's time to get organized! What better way to get inspired than by an adorable day planner. These Kate Spade calendars are sure to get you putting to-do's & appointments inside. Lucky for us Canadian girls Chapters now carries this line.

If you are anything like me I live my life by lists. Nothing more satisfying than writing everything down & checking it off! These Kate Spade notepads are pretty cute & very true.

Or if you are trying to go paperless (which  really is the way we all should be going) maybe a new phone cover will inspire you. Putting your reminders, to-do's & calendar dates into your phone is also a great way to stay on top of things. I have been coveting these cases from Rifle Paper Co. What gold lover wouldn't want the gold striped case?

2014 will be a magical year. My husband & I are expecting our first baby in June. Until then we will be spending quality time together & getting our nursery set up for our little bundle. Wishing everyone a successful, happy & healthy year!

A Few of My Favorite Things

Winter can be hard because we are always bundled up in jackets. I think it's my favorite! I love the accessories that we can incorporate. Whether it's boots, hats, or of course scarves. I might have a bit of a scarf obsession (well, according to my husband). I still justify it with it's cheaper than leather handbags ;)

The Zara blanket scarf is perfect for cold winter months. Not only is the plaid trendy right now, very versatile in how many ways you can wear it (even doubles as a blanket), it's extremely
warm & cozy! My winter go to. Nothing but compliments when I wear it too (bonus!)

I often throw on my Aritzia alps hat when we head out to do errands. It comes in handy especially when we take our dog, Finn out for hikes. I feel like the slouchy tuques have a new twist on traditional tuques. Keeping my ears & head toasty!

Lastly, can't seem to leave the house without my Hunter boots. I purchased the "Huntress" style. I feel like they are more spacious than the original style. I also went with blue because they feel like they aren't ordinary black. These look good with tights or jeans. You can either dress them up or down.

What are some of your winter faves?

Modern Maternity

I'm just getting into this maternity "thing". As I'm only 15 weeks along. So far I have realized that you can be pregnant & fashionable! I'm going to ease into buying a whole new wardrobe but instead slowly collaborate pieces into my collection. Mainly comfort is most important but looking great comes second. Here are a few pieces I have my eye on...

Gap Maternity
J Brand Maternity
Tory Burch Tumbled Reva Flats
